Last April the anthropologist Dolores Juliano was awarded with the Creu de Sant Jordi, one of the highest awards that the Government awarded each year to individuals and entities who are distinguished for their service to Catalonia, in the defense of their identity or in the civic and cultural fields.

Just a few days before this event, we received for editing the interview of Dolores Juliano by some companions of the Projecte Entrevistes (promoted by Montse Clua, UAB). Undoubtedly, there is no better endorsement for this recognition that the reading of this dialogue. It reveals the continuing commitment by Dolores Juliano an anthropological sensitive and involved with social reality. A look that has continued attentive to the vulnerable and stigmatized, and allowed us to enjoy an extensive and diverse: from the anthropology of education, studies on migration and gender. The vision of this anthropologist Argentina, who lives in Barcelona since 1977, besides being a reference for academics, has finally been officially recognized service.

They are also testing the pulse of social anthropological research, the work that we have the chance to spread in this issue of Periferia. Slavkov Magdalena bring us into the migration strategies of the Bulgarian Gypsy population in Spain, Julia Vich, Aurora González and Jordi Grau provide a framework of analysis for international adoption, one of the forms of allegiance of children has grown our society and Isabel Márquez offers a different narrative perspective of mental illness, the patient himself. Also, Stefano Portelli documents and analyzes a multidisciplinary initiative designed to reinvent a neighborhood of Barcelona, Bon Pastor, affected by the urban transformation.

We want to thank all and specially to Dolores Juliano, the anthropological approach and evocative realities of our society. We must not allow either to indicate the increasing contribution of colleagues who contribute their bibliographic review of recent and classic titles. Without a doubt, help work this overview that offers our discipline.
